Bruno's point of view
Trojan laptops in the Government
This month received HP laptops that they hadn’t ordered, and that were bought with credit cards that had not been issued by the states to any of their employees. Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming each received three to five laptops in two shipments each, and state and federal investigators are trying to figure out why. One analyst says what makes the cases so puzzling is that any payback from perpetrating the hoax doesn’t seem to be worth the effort and risk involved.
40 years of the Internet
Yes, 40 years.
1969: On Sept. 2, two computers at University of California, Los Angeles, exchange meaningless data in first test of Arpanet, an experimental military network. The first connection between two sites — UCLA and the Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park, Calif. — takes place on Oct. 29, though the network crashes after the first two letters of the word "logon." UC Santa Barbara and University of Utah later join.
2009: The Seattle Post-Intelligencer becomes the first major daily newspaper to move entirely online. Google announces development of a free computer operating system designed for a user experience that primarily takes place on the Web.
BAD HARDWARE: The trend is obvious. Time is to built in brake switch in the Internet
The new law would allow the President to conduct "periodic mapping" of private networks thought to be critical and would require those companies to share requested information with the federal government.

Don't worry, be happy whole in the ozone hole !
Nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, is now the dominant ozone-depleting substance emitted by humans – and is likely to remain so throughout the century, a new study suggests. About one-third of the nitrous oxide emitted per year is anthropogenic.
Boeing says 787 Dreamliner is ready to fly this year
But, where? In dreams, perhaps?
The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which is more than two years behind schedule, should fly by year's end, and the first of the largely composite jets will be delivered to All Nippon Airways by the end of 2010, the company announced Thursday.

NVIDIA to hit 25 TFLOPS by 2015 !
Surprisingly, the chief scientist at Nvidia, William Dally, estimates 25 TFLOPS by 2015, which is a 25x increase, considering GTX 285's 1 TFLOP output.

In 10 years no one will borrow to the USA
The debt, which was 33 percent of the G.D.P. when the decade began, would reach 68 percent by 2019. Who would then borrow to the country proven unable to return its debt? How beyond 2019? Print dollars gentlemen or face the bitter truth. Seems that hundred years of the USA World dominance is over. Do you still remember UK dominance 1845-1945 ?.

Hit the panic button for debt exit
Warren Buffet a highly influential American has finally hit the panic button, saying that we are going to be crushed under a mountain of debt taking into consideration the amount of debt the country is piling up.
Our debt is growing by 1% a month
Which brings us to the million Dollar question “where’s it going to come from?” Most likely the printing press. And, ultimately, that will destroy the value of the dollar.

With 100Mps link towards Earth, only 31 miles from Moon surface, NASA is still unable to see convincing Apollo landing sites ???
Is that possible?
Hardly, if NASA ever landed there. Clouds, dust storm or NASA somehow even lost a memory where did it actually land ? :)

Centrino vs Centrio is a center of court case worth of Cent billions
Giant chip firm Intel took issue with Harris Corporation and filed a trademark infringement case in a Northern California district court at the end of last week.
Intel alleges that by using a trademark and trade name called Centrio, Harris is likely to cause confusion to people who will confuse it with its Centrino trademark.
There is only one letter of the alphabet missing between the two, and that is the letter "n".
BAD HARDWARE: What about use of Microsoft Wi(n)dows ? Women must not become widows, otherwise might be sued ? Oh by the way, Intel at the same time has prodly stolen Centrino and Core duo logo design (see on the left) from Byzantine Emperor Justinian. Not a joke, look at it yourself at Justinian fresco in Verona, Italy. Anyway, I thought Intel sell superb design not a trademark.

How to handle MILITARY unmanned aircrafts in the national air space ?
Taking in account their 9/11 like non responsibility .
The system is a key component of the FAA NextGen flight management system.
Such trajectory systems let aircraft fly from point-to-point rather than the zig-zag routes most commercial aircraft fly today.
BUT WHY? One expert we surveyed commented that some individuals may raise privacy concerns about a small aircraft that is "spying" on them, whether operated by law enforcement officials or by private organizations.
Unmanned aircraft have the capability to deliver nuclear, biological, or chemical payloads, and can be launched undetected from virtually any site.

Armstrong's backpack big award !
Anyone interested in big prize to bring Armstrong backpack back to the International Space Station up to the year 2015 ? Before the first NASA Lunar mission do it ! Its Moon launch weight is order of 10 kg. Next rover should grab it, fix on its top with ready rockets and launch towards Earth. Provided first of course, some Google contender proves it exists at Moon at all .
NASA is interested in commercial space travel.
Google rovers at Moon
So far 19 teams have registered for the contest.
To win, they must land a rover on the moon that will then drive 500 metres before turning to photograph its landing site – all before the end of 2012.We expect some of them will shoot Armstrong's jettisoned backpack at the picture left. Or even bring it back to Earth (bonus award). Seems he was pretty sure that LM life support system will not fail in the next half hour.
Or he was so sure because he was at Earth? Anyway, that would finally convince me he was actually there. Any additional sponsor ?
Here left is an real? picture of Earth or perhaps Mars from Apollo 11 camera.
No big blue basketball Earth we used to see at the Moon shoots.

AMD should support 12 inch NETbook as soon as possible
AMD notebooks are already inferior in that market niche, and Intel don't want to undermine its dual core notebook profits. Acer has at this moment 11,3 inch Atom based netbook. Without severe AMD's competition that will be seems the top netbook size forever.

Because some RFID chips can be scanned remotely, criminals may be able to covertly scan groups of passport holders at airports, the EFF said in April. RFID passports could thus act as "terrorist beacons," as well as indiscriminately exposing U.S. residents' personal information to strangers.

Great Pacific Garbage Patch
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, also described as the Eastern Garbage Patch or the Pacific Trash Vortex, is a gyre of marine litter in the central North Pacific Ocean located roughly between 135° to 155°W and 35° to 42°N and estimated to be twice the size of Texas.
The patch is characterized by exceptionally high concentrations of suspended plastic and other debris that have been trapped by the currents of the North Pacific Gyre. Despite its size and density, the patch is not visible from satellite photography.

Microsoft relases virtual XP for Windows 7 !?
As you may know, Windows XP Mode is specially designed for small and medium-sized businesses to help ease the migration process to Windows 7 by providing additional compatibility for their older productivity applications.Windows XP Mode provides what we like to call that “last mile” compatibility technology for those cases when a Windows XP productivity application isn’t compatible with Windows 7. Users can run and launch Windows XP productivity applications in Windows XP Mode directly from a Windows 7 desktop. I also strongly recommend that customers install anti-malware and anti-virus software in Windows XP Mode so that Windows XP Mode environment is well protected.
Virtual XP Conditions:
1. Win 7 Professional or Ultimate edition
2. No Beta to RC update
3. Virtualization support in processor(s)
4. BIOS support switched on
Download it here.
