Dell deceived customers
New York State Supreme Court Justice Joseph C. Teresi ruled that Dell engaged in fraud, false advertising and deceptive business practices. The decision is a victory for New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who brought the case against Dell a year ago charging that the company failed to live up to its responsibilities to its customers.

The EU would stop Intel from marketing its microprocessors at a discount to PC makers
FRANKFURT -- The European Union's competition authority plans to take action against Intel Corp.'s sales and distribution practices and will publish an official decision late this summer, a newspaper reported.
Citing Brussels sources, the Financial Times Deutschland said Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes had already decided on the facts and that her department had gathered enough evidence after years of investigations.
In the report released Tuesday ahead of publication Wednesday, the newspaper said the EU would stop Intel from marketing its microprocessors at a discount to PC makers.

If someone buys AMD, Intel CAN recall the license
The contract will expire on the January 1st 2011 and AMD has agreed to renegotiate the contract one year before the expiry. You can easily say that these talks will take place in 2010.
The contract strongly suggests that no company can buy AMD or to be more precise, no company could buy more than 50 percent of AMD.
Terrifying :). FUD guys should know what the native 4 core is (see the pict below). Obviously, the finding relates only about the licence use of Intel's BUS. However, until the 2011 , AMD will completely abandon Intel's old stupid congested bus in favor of their own HT communication technology. So, if AMD would be sold by then, Intel might only pull off its licence for the dead bus technology.

USA Federal agencies have used faked Cisco routers
Faked in red China I suppose.
The concern was that the Chinese parts could provide hackers with backdoor access to U.S. databases, but the investigation found the fake parts did not compromise homeland security.
Eh, now it is easier to me. Except those faked were used at the only 19 gateway points to access any federal agency. Alas, in that case it would be hard to confess. Isn't it?

Amazing Columbia shuttle HD recovery
Columbia's fragments were painstakingly and exhaustively collected. Amongst them was a 400MB Seagate hard drive which was in the sort of shape you think it would be in after being in an explosive fire and then hurled to earth from several miles up with a ferocious impact.
The Kroll people managed to recover 90 percent or so of the 400MB of data from the drive with its cracked and burned casing.
Badhardware: 400MB HD in 2003? Today 400GB HD is a home PC standard.
In HP servers it is 820 TB.
Currently, 45% of all hard drives in the world, from PCs to data centers, are sold by HP.
Climate modellers need 100 Pflops supercomputer.
The modellers say they need a centre with computing power of 100 petaflops – two thousand times greater they have access to today.

AMD must double market share to survive
Advanced Micro Devices needs to more than double its share of the microprocessor market to survive, according to a brief filed by the company's lawyers in antitrust case against Intel.
