Wallet wars breakout in 2016
You could not soon pay anything without your Android or iOS. However, the arrival of Apple Pay has spurred the adoption of NFC-enabled point-of-sale terminals at retailers, which benefits Google as well as Apple.

Intel's Skylake is Morphcore processor
“With these [MorphCore] and other promising ideas developed in collaboration with Intel’s academic partners, processors in the next 5-10 years may offer the best of both worlds: high performance to minimize delay and deliver the best user experience; as well as throughput mode to maximize efficiency when single thread performance is less important,”
Chris Wilkerson Intel Labs, Hillsboro, OR

99% BAD HARDWARE WEEK: Short for Thread-Level Parallelism, TLP is a software capability that enables a program, often a high-end program such as a database or web application to work with multiple threads at the same time instead of having to wait on other threads. Programs that support this ability can do a lot more even under high levels of work loads.
OOO reservations to be used as in-order instruction buffers .
A many-to-one threading model maps many user processes directly to one kernel thread, the kernel thread can be thought of as the main process. This is good for single ILP processor.
A one-to-one threading model maps each user thread directly to one kernel thread, this model allows parallel processing on the multiprocessor systems. Each kernel thread can be thought of as a VP (Virtual Process) which is managed by the scheduler. Exploits TLP.

The worst prediction for the first half of the 21st century !
Charles H. Duell was the Commissioner of US patent office in 1899. Mr. Deull's most famous attributed utterance is that "everything that can be invented has been invented."
There is no market for more than 5 billion computers !!
- Dr. Joseph Bell, 1911 inasanely brave prediction only 12 years later
By 2020, there could be as many as 100 billion internet-connected objects around the world.
By 2025 IOT WOULD CREATE USD 19 TRILLION IN ECONOMIC VALUE.
The goal of 5G Radio Access Network is to provide a 1,000x increase in capacity, supporting 100+ billion connections with data rates up to 10Gbps and less than 1ms latency.

99% BAD HARDWARE WEEK: We have great misprediction talents in 21 century, not only great IBM's trader Thomas Watson in 1952. Actually, dr Watson was right, if he conidered only scientific mainframes. Bussiness computers had been promising even in that long time ago year 1952.
ARM will release mbed OS under an Apache 2.0 license which will include mbed TLS, Thread, and other technologies toward the end of 2015. In 2010, Cisco Systems bought Arch Rock, yet another IoT startup that helped drive 6LoWPAN.

Ruler ch(e)at: No 14 nm chips !
As continued progress of Moore's Law approaches the next two semiconductor technology nodes, 11 nanometers and 7 nanometers, new metrology instruments — a kind of fine-scaled ruler — is needed to succeed. Since these rulers need to be as much as 10 times more fine than the semiconductors they are measuring the current rulers could have nixed Moore's Law continued progress. The previous finest scale rulers today were spaced at four nanometers — invented by aBeam Technologies Inc.

99% BAD HARDWARE WEEK: Future 1.5 nanometers ruler for 7 nm chips. Current 4nm ruler for 22 nm chips, then what existing ruler was used for Intel's 14nm super duper chips ?? None.! Thus, there is no 14nm chips ! No at all ? Weeeeell, except on some roadmaps. :))))

ARM Cores Take on PC Processors
Phones using ARM cores are expected in 2016 that deliver 4K video with the
quality of a set-top box, console-class gaming and virtual reality
experiences while staying in a smartphone power budget, said Nandan
Nayampally, an ARM vice president of marketing. ARM officials are banking on its wide ecosystem of partners to redirect content from PCs and TVs to the new handsets.

Intel's Skylake confirmed for Q3 2015
Intel new advanced 14 nm architecture |
Intel’s Skylake architecture will bring a number of new features to the table, including higher Instructions per clock (IPC), Thunderbolt 3.0 support (‘Alpine Ridge’ models only), DDR4 memory and native SATA Express.
The Z170 companion chipset would be the flagship performance chipset which will support the unlocked K-Series Skylake processors . The chipset will feature up to 20 PCIe Gen 3 lanes, 6 SATA Gen 3 ports, 10 USB 3.0 ports and a total of 14 total USB ports (USB 3.0 / USB 2.0), up to 3 SATA Express capable ports, up to 3 Intel RST capable PCI-e storage ports which may include x2 SATA Express or M.2 SSD port with Enhanced SPI and x4/x8/x16 capable Gen 3 PCI-Express support from the processor.

99% BAD HARDWARE WEEK: Native Command Queuing has been known since 2008 say in Intel's SSD. Now HD access will be faster too. Well, if you use faster core, twice faster DDR4, you can't rely on old, slow HD. And the other peripheral devices too.
Intel is not implementing USB 3.1 and that would be a cool thing. We expect to see USB 3.1 shipping in 2015, but motherboard manufacturers will have to rely on external controllers.
