Easy way to reach Moon

We chose to go to Moon, not because it is easy, but on hard way.
Aurora mission makes detour to Moon
I wonder if NASA actually  "landed" at Moon this way ? When far part of Earth satellite orbit pass Lagrange point, Moon will  attract it. Obviously. No need for big booster  rockets. Only little Moon gravity assistance.

FBI says Slovenian mastermind of botnet nabbed

The alleged mastermind is a 23-year-old Slovenian whose Internet nickname is Iserdo.
Slovenian police have confirmed that they have detained a computer hacker believed responsible for creating the virus that infected 12 million computers worldwide.

Slovenian is forced to work in the future for NSA, against the aggressive Chinese and Russian hackers.
50 of the world’s Fortune 100 companies are actively participating in this botnet as well as hundreds of government agencies, financial institutions, universities and corporate networks worldwide.
With over 200 variants, some of the Mariposa malware is currently detected and some is not. Coordination with antivirus companies is ongoing to ensure that their signatures are updated.

Room temperature superconductivity ?

We already know perovskite structures for giant magnetoresistance and excellent dielectric constants.
We know too that superconducting like effect is  measurable on the same crystalline structures. But, superconducting at room temperature at 313K? Sorry, not likely.
It is only resistance side effect of colossal  magneto resistance of perovskite like crystalline structures used.
And not at room temperature, but at order of 150K . Here, in micro amperes.

God's particle is close. Well, almost.

Researchers from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) project near Geneva said in just three months of experiments they had already detected all the particles at the heart of our current understanding of physics, the Standard Model.

The neutralino is the lightest supersymmetric particle. It cannot decay to anything lighter, and so is bound to live forever. It is electrically neutral, so light cannot see it; it is not made of coloured stuff, so ordinary matter hardly stops it; and it is just expected to have the right mass to make the matter balance of our Universe compatible with its evolution after the big bang.

Slovenians investigated for computer virus

"More than 13 million computers all over the world have been infected, including those of 750 US companies and at least 40 banks," the report said.

Silicon speed tweaking, up to 20 times !

We know this is possible in practice, though to some extent  (35%) with a layer of germanium above silicon, but lead sounds much ... faster.

God plays dice: Gravity doesn't exist in a way Einstein imagined it !

Finally, a truth on gravity.

Thus, determinism is not so attractive driving scientific engine any more.Ironically, Einstein actually was looking for radically new idea after breakthrough with relative time in his special relativity. However, he never played with irreversibility of time . Because, his Unified theory would be that way probabilistic. That means literally, quite contrary to his basic belief, that God plays dice.

What to say in the end? Truth is stranger than illusion, but never as strange as lies. Thus, our hopes for perfection are only just that, hopes dear Mr. Einstein.

Microsoft may not survive post-PC era

SAN FRANCISCO – If I had to place a bet, I'd say Intel will survive the post-PC era pretty much intact, but I am not so sure about Microsoft. That's what I am thinking as I head to a mobile technology conference in San Francisco.

Researcher cracks 'secret' code in U.S. Cyber Command logo in a minutes

The (O)mission.
US CYBERCOM plans, coordinates, integrates, synchronizes, and conducts activities to: direct the operations and defense of specified Department of Defense information networks and; prepare to, and when directed, conduct full-spectrum military cyberspace operations in order to enable actions in all domains, ensure freedom of action in cyberspace for the U.S. and its allies, and deny the same to adversaries.

It took him just a few minutes to figure out that the characters -- 9ec4c12949a4f31474f299058ce2b22a -- were the hash value for Cybercom's above (O)mission statement.

666: Mark of the Beast in Japan

“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:16-17

Japanese consumers are estimated to carry some 120 million cashless payment chips.

BAD HARDWARE: Just as many as cashless Japan has inhabitants. When you are required by law to get the mark of the beast and when you can’t buy or sell without it how will you live?
Does the Bible reveal the answers to these questions? Could 2008 really be the beginning of the end? In short, yes!
According to the Payments Council, a trade body representing the banks in the UK, card and cash machine industry, this proportion will fall to below 50 per cent by 2015.
Times Online reports that currency in circulation now  is about 16% of GDP in Japan.
