4K byte disk sectors mean the end of XP based new computers
Because it works only with 512 Byte ones.
Hmm, 4TB disks by then will have the same number clusters like 512GB 2.5inch disks today.
That means dare I say, nettop will soon run 4TB disk without problems? Note quite sure, but 2TB will for sure in 2011.
Warning: In case of performance problems in that case simply use 2.5inch SSD as primary disk. And 8GB DRAM with its large parts reserved for I/O cache.
Currently, the 100GB A-DATA S599 is dangerously close to the capacity of the 80GB drives, but the extra 20GB should be just enough to keep a very large majority of users on notebooks satisfied with the capacity.
750GB , 3 times smaller disk storage is already available.
