The Path is a new path. And by the way, it hires !

Android and Java engineers !
Then, a few weeks ago, my mom sent me a text saying: ‘Axelle, I have an iPhone! We can text and Facetime.’  But my first response was, ‘Congrats! Now go to the App Store, search for ‘Path’ and download it now.’ ‘What is Path?’, she asked.  ’You will be able to follow my life here and how I am doing. You’ll see, download it!’ Five minutes later, she signed up. Thanks to Path’s simplicity, she was engaging all of the features immediately. She checked in at our countryside house, uploaded photos of our dogs, her gardening, her knitting project.
As our mission is to build the world’s first personal network, a trusted place for you to journal and share life with close friends and family, we take the storage and transmission of your personal information very, very seriously.  Here at Path, our goal is to help you develop a high quality network to connect more deeply and share personal moments with your closest friends and family. We are inspired by Oxford University Professor Robin Dunbar, whose research delves deeply into the number of trusted relationships humans can maintain throughout life.
People tend to have 5 best friends, 15 good friends, 50 close friends and family, and 150 total friends. At Path, we're building tools for you to share with the people who matter most in your life. Our intent is to nurture quality relationships to offer you the comfort to share all your personal moments.

Facebook will buy Opera browser for $1,4B

Opera’s mobile browser, Opera Mini, is free of charge and has become one of the world’s most used, reaching 168.8 million users in the first quarter this year. The browser often comes pre-installed on cheap, mass-market mobile devices sold in emerging markets and generates revenue by selling advertising space on its home screen.

The 5G wireless research in Dresden

The 5G wireless lab will be one of the first in the world and the research results will be used to determine global standards for the next phase of wireless communications. While the research will include a variety of system concepts, there is a special focus on the evolution of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) technology and extending the use of multiple antenna MIMO technology past the current 8x8 systems.

NASA wants to keep its shits on Moon intact !

Here
Astrobiologists, for example, are interested in studying how bacteria in the astronauts' feces have fared after 40 years and if they have undergone gene mutation. Microbes also existed in clothes, food containers and other gear left behind on the moon.Visiting spacecraft also are advised to descend and land at least 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) away from historic sites to avoid pelting hardware with lunar dust.

Nano vacuum tube operates at 460 Ghz !

Better than tranisistors.
The team's device isn't the first attempt at miniaturizing the vacuum tube. Contrary to previous work, however, the researchers do not need to create a "proper" vacuum: The separation of the source and drain is so small that the electrons stand very little chance of colliding with atoms in the air. This is a huge benefit, says Meyyappan, because it opens the door to mass production

Facebook or Facered face bubble ?

“Thousands of retail clients with significant losses in Facebook in the next three months even though the IPO will be a resounding success for the company. … This could get very ugly.”
If Facebook is valued at $100 billion, its valuation would be 33 times its advertising revenue, compared with 5.5 times for Google. To sustain its value, Facebook would need to grow its revenues by 41% percent per year for the next five years. That is very hard to do for any company, especially one of Facebook’s size.Even a minor hiccup in the business model could lead to significant losses for purchasers.
In March, the social network had 488 million monthly average unique users of its mobile products, out of a total of just over 900 million registered users. Facebook, Zuckerberg sued over IPO

350 million Windows 7 devices shipped by the end of 2012

Microsoft is predicting big things for Windows 7 even though rumors are pointing to Windows 8 launching this year. Windows 8 is expected around October, but as history tells us with operating systems, predicted launch dates can change. Despite the new operating system on the horizon, Microsoft is predicting 350 million Windows 7 devices will ship by the end of 2012. However, Microsoft doesn't make a much investment ado about this number of users compared to Facebook or soon Facered.
