Intel goes back to 486 power consumption levels
Intel will provide 10 times lower power consumption in a few years, after introduction of a new process P1265, able to lower its leakage up to 1000 times. Congrats. If so, does it mean that currently Intel's processors leak a lot?
Finally, after a lot of criticism on its bad hardware based on big leakage, Intel invented a low leakage process. Probably, this process is not suitable for high performance, but it is desperately needed at the low end. Write off XScale class immediately. Write off Itanium.
In a few years Intel will have comleted line of its processsors on a single X86 architecture.
Designed in Israel.
