2.6 Ghz Phenom 9900 has TDP of 140W
HKEPC confirms what BAD HARDWARE found yesterday. Phenom 2.6 Ghz is not made for 65nm and its TDP is 140W. It would be needed a lot of time and work to shave it into 120W thermal envelope.
Interestingly that Intel's high-k , hafnium, 45nm, eat small children new generation quad core at 3.2 Ghz consumes some 150W too. What is the problem? Is quad core too early bird? Do you remember ill fated Tejas at 150W too?
