What is ahead in computing?

Lets first look back.

8088
Introduction date: June 1979
Clock speeds: 5 MHz (0.33 MIPS)
8 MHz (0.75 MIPS)
Internal architecture: 16 bits
External bus width: 8 bits
Number of transistors: 29,000 (3 microns)
Typical use: Standard microprocessor for all IBM PCs and PC clones
Identical to 8086 except for its 8 bit external bus

3 Microns is some 50 times broader line than current production ruling 65nm. Fifty times narrower of 65nm is 1,3nm. Thus, in the next 30 years our most advanced today's microprocessors will resemble in performance as we remember now ubiquitous 8088, the first PC microprocessor. Paradoxically, microprocessor from 2039 should run at at 8Mhz, deja vue in 8088 microprocessors.

Provided that PC architecture is practically dead. And that the new king that will rule in the next 30 year should be born just now.
Thus, king is dead, long live the King.
