Gmail failed
Today and completely.
"We're aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a number of users. This problem occurred at approximately 1.30AM Pacific Time. We're working hard to resolve this problem and will post updates as we have them. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused."
Gmail latest: I am back again!
Here is the explanation:
"Google had been testing new code designed to keep data geographically closer to its owner, which brought about disruption when maintenance in one datacentre caused another facility to be overloaded. This had a cascade effect, according to Google, and it took the company an hour to get it back under control."
