Samsung and AMD in 40nm
The company expects the new product will lower power consumption to 70 per cent of that for 50-nanometer DRAM chips. A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter.
AMD would be in 40nm by October. AMD reckons these products will fundamentally change the graphics industry and give it an advantage over arch rival Nvidia.
