Conflicker worm fast cure

I have Win98, and look Ma, no Conflicker worm. I have Win 7 beta, and look Ma, no Conflicker worm.
I have one unpatched XP and Conflicker worm inside. I have no Vista machine and no Conflicker. :)

Now, did Microsoft intentionally allow Conflicker attack, now able to kill some 350M PCs worldwide? Not properly patching XP, it is quite possible. But why, Why ? The answer is quite simple. To move scared XP people towards by default patched Windows 7. However, what we will do when Conflicker's grandson arrive that kills Windows 7? Well, stop talking you terrorist.
It is not important to be secure, but to buy the next Windows version in huge quantities . Hollow too, etc. etc.

But what we can do about it just now?
If you are not able to update or install your security software, than you might be easily under Conflicker control.
Don't try anything else, except the advice from this article.
If removal is successful install free Spybot search and destroy , with its the latest update immediately. That will destroy all known spywares Conflicker installed in the meantime.
Very useful article is this one too.

RE: A New Reality

The last few months have been humbling for virtually every company in every industry around the world. Global demand is down dramatically. And uncertainty about both the timing and intensity of a potential recovery has risen. This combination has made our goal of regaining profitability and free cash flow more difficult – and more important - than ever.

Vista troubles are only a negative hype?

Blame the bloggers?

Well, I don't know how to blame the bloggers for crippled crawling Vista notebooks in my company, immediately downgraded to XP. Someone could educate me, because I am speaking only from my practical experience, and never from my ass?
Vista Seinfeld campaign debacle? Well, the idiots make that man famous, and what would you expect from that campaign final outcome, except Idiot inside the Vista box label?

Yeah not to forget, Bush administration continuous troubles are only a hype too. Blame the bloggers. Too.

Intel clearly lost $1+B in Clearwire adventure. Utilization of its excessive fabs sharply drops, its future is clearly dim.

So what?
Sell your Intel's shares, as fast as you can man!
Save yourself from the next bubble burst, if you can.
Intel claims limited visibility, offers no Q1 forecast.

BAD HARDWARE: Now, we have seems again the same troubles AMD couldn't solve by years. However, AMD's currently restricted production facilities are more resistant and adaptable to future serious lack of chip demand. Oh, by the way ,some rumors say that Clearwire money actually disappeared through some dark underground channels to finance Israel's current killing hundreds of Gaza civilians. Go to hell Intel for that disgusting sponsorship ! Not the first time Intel did it, but I hope this is the last time.

TIC - TOC: Intel Q4 profit tumbles 90 percent

Intel Corp. on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $234 million, or 4 cents a share, down 90 percent from the year-ago quarter's earnings of $2.27 billion, or 38 cents a share.

The company said microprocessor and chipset units were "significantly lower" versus the third quarter. "The pace at which the economic environment unraveled and the extent to which PC purchases were affected was faster than anticipated."
Microsoft said in its last quarterly earnings call that it expected PC shipments to grow between 10 and 12 percent during the quarter.

Should we in future expect from Intel, instead of TIC TOC pace only TIC, TIC,TIC ?

Cfast: Compact Flash SATA drive

CFast
A future versions of CompactFlash, known as CFast, will be based on the Serial ATA bus, rather than the Parallel ATA/IDE bus for which all previous CompactFlash are designed.

These cards will support a higher maximum transfer rate than current CompactFlash current. As of 2009 , SATA supports transfer rates up to 300 MB/s, while PATA is limited to 133 MB/s using UDMA 6. However, few if any current flash memory device support speeds greater than 133 MB/s, and CFast cards will not be physically or electronically compatible with CF cards, requiring new card readers and new digital cameras to take advantage of them. CFast cards use a 7-pin SATA data connector (identical to the standard SATA connector), but a 17-pin power connector that appears incompatible with the standard 15-pin SATA power connector, so an adaptor will be requiring to connect CFast cards in place of standard SATA hard drives.

Top-end CompactFlash today cards reach 45MB/sec. Cfast should be initially faster 3-4 times.

HDR camera mode should benefit? CFast cards are expected to reach market in late 2009. At CES 2009, Pretec showed a 32 GB CFast and announced that they should reach market within a few months.

USA: Unemployed States of America

More than half a million Americans lost their jobs last month, capping the worst year for US unemployment since the end of the Second World War. Shiny AMD: Petaflops cloud computing announced

Advanced Micro Devices unveiled plans for the company's AMD Fusion Render Cloud, a massively-parallel supercomputer, which will deliver next-generation games and applications. According to AMD, the new supercomputer is designed to break the one petaFLOPS barrier, and to process a million compute threads across more than 1,000 graphics processors.

"AMD has a long track record in the supercomputing world. Seven out of 10 of the world's fastest machines, including the fastest two computers on the planet, are powered by AMD hardware," said Meyer.

The AMD Fusion Render Cloud will be powered by AMD-optimized hardware including the Phenom II processors, 790 chipsets and ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics processors.

Intel stole virtualization technology worth $5B !

In 2003, Young wanted Jobs to help him develop and market his intellectual property and patentable invention, or to buy it from him for $250 million. Young claims Jobs never responded to his requests, but instead forwarded the intellectual property to Intel. This, in turn, allowed Intel to make virtualization technology work with Core 2 Duo.

For these commercially valuable products, which are known as the [Core-2 Duo Micro Processor, and Virtual Technology], allegedly invented by Intel Corporation, then pro se plaintiff agrees to be HELD liable for the Ten Thousand Dollar [$10,000.00] civil fine fees.

Is hyperthreading a mistake ?

Well, all we know now that hyper trading is. :(
But , can we be clever enough to know that hyperthreading is a mistake too?
Yeah, this finding might be a hint. On the other side, large power consumption at Core i7 has no so obvious cause. It is not clear from the picture above howPhenom II is tested in a comparative way in a hyperthreading mode when it doesn't support hyperthreading?
The best thing here is that Phenom is better even in situation when Cool n' Quiet failed.
The main cause of Intel's huge power consumption measured is in a fact that its architecture still isn't power optimized , and after EIST being switched off, its overall power consumption simply exploded. Phenom C2 revision (Phenom II) took clever architecture trade (lower HT clock) to minimize power consumption. Intel's Hyperthreading mode simply hogs its i7 core's connections. Intel's i7 is thus in power consumption sense simply a statistical mix of two consumption extremes: EIST and hyperthreading modes.

SDXC signals new generation of removable card memory with up to 2 Terabytes of storage

The new SDXC specification provides up to 2 terabytes storage capacity and accelerates SD interface read/write speeds to 104 megabytes per second this year, with a road map to 300 megabytes per second.

The SDXC specification, developed by the SD Association, leapfrogs memory card interface speeds while retaining the world-leading SD interface. Specifications for the open standard will be released in the first quarter of 2009. SDHC, Embedded SD and SDIO specifications will also benefit from the new SD interface speeds.Panasonic supports the announcement and development of the SDXC standard and plans to launch a 64 GB massive capacity SDXC Memory Card, which will have more capacity than the currently available 50 GB dual layer Blu-ray Disc.

BAD HARDWARE: Hay man, currently fastest hard disks are 2TB. How far they will go until SDXC hits the 2TB limit in practice.

But, don't be too excited. Performance is not now AMD's top word. Though, we can't say the product is bad, and Intel's abrupt fall is somehow related with it. We can see below lower HT clock, higher core clock, bigger L3 and lower TDP in Revision C2.
