AMD announces 3Ghz Opterons 256 and 856
AMD announces 3Ghz Opteron 256 and 856 priced at USD $851/1514 respectively. Prices for the rest of the 8XX processors drop significantly, between 20 to 25% after this introduction.
Rumors say that those 3Ghz Opterons are from new Fab 36. Interestingly, Intel planned to response with 6Ghz processor next year. But, all it will do will be the same ... 3Ghz.
