New Xeon LGA 771 socket
But, Woodcrest will be the first to use LGA 771 for Blade and embedded purposes:
Woodcrest models 5110 -5150. If those models are embedded, than they are not too much performance striking. For that role remains models at 2,66 and 3,0 Ghz that alas should consume much more power, than widely announced lower clocked model.
Let me conclude: Intel has combined in its latest deception campaign high performance of top Woodcrest models with low power consumption of blade models as performance of the whole Woodrest family. Of course, something like that is impossible in reality. :)
Did you notice there are no 200MHz FSB parts? That's because Benseley (the platform) cannot do FSB800. It was supposed to be a point of convergence between Xeon and Itanium (I believe), so it was made with 266MHz & 166MHz FSB speeds in mind (what was expected all Netburst CPUs would be using by now and what Itanium would require) so the lower-end Netburst chips will be insanely bottlenecked by the FSB.Yet another hint on Itanium death?
